During the 2005-2006 Season, STG conducted 51 education and community programs and reached 19,815 community members.
MASTER CLASSES & WORKSHOPS, LECTURE/DEMONSTRATIONS, OPEN SOUND CHECK AND REHEARSALS

- Over 8,000 community members participated
- Shumba Marimba rehearsed and performed with renowned children’s musician, Dan Zanes
- Susan McLain, former Martha Graham dancer, conducted a lecture/demonstration for 235 community members and a master class for students as part of The Day of Dance, in partnership with Cornish College of the Arts
- Silent film lectures were attended by 4,800 audience members including a discussion with Melvin Van Peebles, legendary African American film director

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Residency
STG had the opportunity to partner with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater (AAADT) in March 2006 to bring a deep and multi-faceted arts education program to Seattle area residents. STG coordinated 8 special workshops for student dancers and a week-long residency conducted by AAADT impacting 120 students at Denny Middle School. 700 tickets were provided to underserved groups to attend the AAADT performance at The Paramount Theatre.

- 3,329 students attended three special youth matinees in dance and music
- 3,803 subsidized tickets were offered to performances at The Paramount and Moore Theatres to young artists, youth organizations, schools, seniors and other area not-for-profit community organizations
- 1,000 participants experienced Historic Theatre Tours and School Tours introducing the public and students to the rich history of The Paramount Theatre

Artist-in-Residence – Daniel Bernard Roumain
STG’s 2nd Annual Artist-in-Residence Program featured Daniel Bernard Roumain (DBR), New York based composer, conductor and musician. DBR conducted lecture/demonstrations and workshops for students at Denny Middle School and Leschi Elementary School. DBR created a new work in collaboration with teen artists as Music Director for More Music @ The Moore. DBR’s string quartet, SQ Unit, performed his original compositions live in STG’s DANCE this… performance program at The Paramount Theatre.
